legal fuels for historic formula ford?? discussion

The start of the season is getting nearer and as there doesn't seem to be any discussion on what fuel we can use.

we all have our preferences on which fuel we buy, some like to use the higher octane unleaded fuels from the various forecourts around the uk and add a lead additive to protect there engines, other use the leaded fuel from that well known supplier.. which is where i want to start talking about what the blue book says on fuel mainly the RON and MON numbers. The maximum for RON is 100 and the maximum for the MON is 89.

which taking as all our fuels have to meet the BS EN 228 the ones we buy from the side of the road are fine and below the limits, unless your willing test your fuel every time you buy it, as the vast quantities made can never be the same how can we know for sure that were using legal fuel? (the tesco momentum 99 is 99Ron 87MON just as an example.)

So now we start to look at the leaded fuel from the fuel specialist, and its 100RON and 91MON, its on there website you can check for yourselves, which it also states its an FIA legal fuel.

On that basis its not legal for the hscc historic formula ford championship as there regs state pump fuel as described in the msa blue book section B nomenclature and definitions.

the company also sell unleaded which is 100RON and 89MON again check the site, this im guessing is legal?

i must add this is not a rant at the fuel company or to any individual using the fuel, i just think some clarity is needed in public view. as it was talked about at a meeting sometime ago and nothing else seems to have been said about it.
