Saturday, MRO at Oulton Park, several bikes were involved in an incident. One of the riders, who was unhurt, but whose bike was unrideable, climbed over the fencing into the infield where he was met by one of his team who took him back to the paddock to get his spare bike.
The sector marshal whose post the incident had occurred naturally radioed this in; on (mis)hearing the radio, a look of shock & horror came across the face of one of my fellow marshals, doing his first day's marshalling - he thought the sector marshal had said that the rider had gone off into a car......he had actually said 'gone off
in a car.......
