This reply is some 11 years late,I was with Mike Hawley at some of the hill events in 71 & 72, the first engine indeed was the FVA but he went for the Brian Heart BDA for the second season. This engine was an animal and took two of us to start it ( Phil Witton ) he went with Mike to many events, I could not spare the time.
If anyone is interested I have a very good Black and White photo of Mike in the Brabham at Shelsley, and would be very happy to share. It was Red and always immaculate .... he had one of the first Range Rovers in that nasty mustard colour matched to a Don Parker trailer in the same colour. The BT 35 spent many hours in the garage in Darwin Street, B'ham until it all went very wrong, Grand Met. took over and closed us down.

For me, very happy memories and would go back now this minute!
