Reynolds left at the end of 2020, three years after he won Bathurst. The relationship between team and driver deteriorated when he and some of his entourage carried on like pork chops during the time the team was based in Queensland for 3 or 4 months due to Covid lockdowns in Melbourne. Some of this came to the fore the next year when Reynolds went all anti-vax and ended up being benched for a few rounds.

Penrite presumably felt Reynolds was a more marketable commodity and thus followed the driver. Fast forward to 2023 and their position had clearly changed, hence it remained with Grove when Reynolds went to Team 18.

Maybe, but Supercars were never going to comment nor endorse the story, it is between Kostecki and Erebus, Supercars would have no involvement.
