Fortunatly most team principles and managers understand what is going on and judge the drivers on there talent and what they are producing on the track and i can guarantee that at least two or three of these drivers will climb higher up the ladder because of there exployts in Auto GP this year.
it's not really... the thing is, regardless of exactly what the details of the story are, every driver has a story to tell, of having a difficult or seemingly inexperienced or inept engineer, of the cars being impossible to drive, of financial hardships and dramatic moments. the moment you listen to one of those stories and give extra credit to someone for fighting a battle, you have to look at every other driver in the same light, to the same detail. you have to speak to their team, their engineer, understand their side of the story and *then* pass judgement.

we each have stories we've played a part in or been audience to that have affected us more than another. some part of a drivers story that parallels some of our own fights in life, for example. some people think more of a driver who has had physical struggles against injury or illness, others believe more in someone who has had other opportunities in their life and thrown them aside to pursue motorsport.

what it all amounts to is different views and perceptions. and it's always harsh because sport is about judging people. to those with a different perspective on a persons story it always comes across as an attack, but it isn't. it's just a simple judgement.

nobody is right, and nobody is wrong. but we should really all have the decency to listen to someone elses opinion and accept comment and counter-arguements to our own. and don't judge different people's passion for the sport because it comes in a different package to your own. we don't know your story as much as you don't know ours
