I think it's a bit of a shame. I was really getting into the format of it, and every now and again it would throw up something strange when teams got their tactics wrong (or sometimes fluked them).
If you're going to do one driver, one lap time, you should take away the point for pole - being quick over one lap counts for nothing in this discipline.
It's a nice compromise though.
