I have been reading this thread off and on for years and there's lots of very interesting stuff in it but I have just realised that I don't actually know what the baseline specs of the cars were in Grp1 and GrpA trim. For the none expert like me, does such a thing exist please. It would be interesting as I could then put some of the other stuff in context. I don't even know whether the cars of this era were bolt in or welded cages; seam welded shells; drum brakes or discs at the rear; power output; adjustable suspension; 4 or 5 speed boxes etc etc. My apologies if this is dumb but it would be interesting to know what the basic specs for each set of regs were!
