"Das Erste" also meddles quite a bit into the race format. They're supposedly responsible for the current race format, including the mandatory pitstops. This was probably a move to get closer to F1.

It is noticeable they copy everything F1 does, seemingly F1-lite. But why? They're tin tops, get rid of the flaps and mini wings, reduce downforce....I think the DTM could be fantastic, but blindly follows F1......
