Single Seaters - BOSS - Trouble is, it's too costly. Need F5000 back!!!
Saloons - probably Formula Saloons for sheer speed (ex-Thundersaloons in Class A, and SuperTourers in Class B). For cheap close racing - Stock/Hot Hatches.
You can never discount things like the Alfa Romeo championship, good size grids, and some good racing.
The Cupra series was a bit too rough and tumble, as well as the Clios where both series' would benefit from pusher bars on the front, to add to the effect.
Up and coming spectacle - gotta be ASCAR.
