'Garish red' probably rules it out from being another of my unknown T240/2s then. I've got a picture of a start at Nelson Ledges in May 1980 and can identify all the Atlantics except two at the back - a white T360 and a white T240.
The gelcoat on the build list says 17 was 'orange', so crimson is probably right. I wonder, given the original color, if this was not the Marathon Oil car for Jim Harrell in 1972, replacing his T240
