Anyhoo... PPV will almost certainly cause some of these newbies to lose interest pretty sharpish. They "love" it until something else comes along.

There are fans who are diehard and who just can't afford PPV though. Its not just taking it away from channel hoppers but legitimate fans feeling the pinch too in many cases.
Also if newbies aren't given the chance to slowly get interested through exposure to the sport, what makes you think they will invest just to try it? Your opinion is flawed in many respects.
