Carl Hansen’s very quick TVR Tucson has undergone a complete rebuild and upgrade during the past two seasons while it has not been racing. The TVR will be a top competitor in the new Sports GT category during the summer NZ Championship series.

The almost legendary 351ci Rover V8 has been replaced by a 401 cu in custom-built Ford V8 which should produce around 800 hp and will drive through a six-speed Hollinger gearbox, and also have new brakes, suspension parts etc.
As if it was not fast enough already! Oh well, you need to keep moving forward otherwise you will go backward

Interesting, doesn't look half bad either! Still running a carburettor I see, does anyone know the engine spec. for this new car? Same as the old ones, or an update?
I understand the teams running Holden engines were having issues getting suitable blocks, as they have been out of production for many years. And NZV8's insisting on the "DNA" remaining true, so that means Ford and Holden (or maybe GM?) engines one would think?

With even Nascar moving to injection next year (since running carbs from 1949!) there can't be too many new classes of Motorsport persisting with this old technology.
