It used to be banned in France. When did that change?

LM (where they aren't) Not extreme? Racing for 24 hours is an extreme example of the sport. F1 (where they are) not extreme? 6g in braking and fastest lapping circuit cars is taking it to the extreme. Having said that I know what is meant by 'not extreme'.
