The other Alfas were just run by privateers, like Franz Engstler for example. Maybe it was enough for Alfa to have "just" some 155s/156s running around in Germany, just to keep the brand in the German racing scene, without spending too many ressources there. After all, the later DTM/ITC years cost a lot of money for Alfa.

alfa entered officially in STW when DTM was over at the enf of 96.
from season 97 alfa raced in both championship italian and german.
In Germany Modena and Danner in 97, Modena with Giovanardi and Larini just in few race in 98, Modena and some young driver in 99.
