It has been proposed by the FIA to introduce a Pole trophy for the driver who wins the most pole positions in a season. As there is no reward of points for pole this is being proposed as an alternative.

It seams like a good idea as it gives drivers something else to chase especially if they loose out on reliability although it will probably end up with driver who wins most races anyway.
