2012 Fantasy F1 Results - China

The China Round up

First the Relevant Facts and figures that determine the points…

All 24 cars qualified within the 107% time

There was 1 Grid drop penalty to be applied…
Hamilton dropped 5 places from 2nd to 6th on the grid for changing his gearbox after less than 5 races. As he remained within the Q3 group he retains his 2 qualifying bonus points.

Vergne’s car was withdrawn from Parc Ferme conditions to make modifications. As a result he started from Grid position 24. As per rules his race gain/loss bonus will be calculated from this position. As Vergne did not achieve a time sufficient to reach Q2, there are no Qualifying bonus adjustments required.

Qualifying bonuses for a Constructor having both cars in Q3 go to Sauber, McLaren, Lotus and Mercedes, with the Engine supplier bonuses going to Mercedes, Ferrari and Renault for each powering 2 different constructors into Q3.

There were 3 leaders of the race Rosberg, Perez and Button, each receive 1 bonus point, Rosberg leading the most laps resulting in additional bonus points to him and Mercedes for both Constructor and Engine supplier.

Fastest lap went to Kobayashi taking the bonus points for himself, Sauber and engine supplier Ferrari.

The top 2 engines from each supplier, powering different constructors are colour coded for easy reference.

There was one driver classified as a non-finisher, Schumacher was the only one judged to have suffered a technical DNF (Wheel), with the result that Mercedes has a -5 points penalty for that car.

Rules Announcement

Should a driver/team withdraw his car from parc ferme to make adjustments (other than those allowed by the FIA for safety purposes), and as a result start from the pit lane. A -10 point penalty will be applied to the Driver and -5 point penalty applied to the constructor. Where withdrawal from parc ferme is for an engine change, this will be considered an engine failure, for which existing rules apply.
This rule change will be in force for Bahrain and subsequent races.
