I don't agree with that observation. The aero of the R18 is very sophisticated: all the body parts are extremely low (partially thanks to the exhaust in the middle of the engine) and the car looks extremely slippery. I think that design philosophy is justified because the aero has to compensate for the power reduction.

BTW I just read that the R18 has a 6 speed gearbox.
