I don't think it will end the twins success story, but it will end the dominance, they will have some competition, that's all. By definition of the engine dynamics you have torque from a Vtwin and power from a inline 4 with a v4 you should get a compromise. different circuits will suit different bikes. long fast starights suit inlines as they have time to wind up between corners, twisty tracks suit V engines because of the torque to drive fast out of corners without having to wait for them to wind up.
