It's entertainment. That's what racing is supposed to be. It's the anti-F1, in that it directly addresses many of F1's flaws. It shows just what is possible with lower-budget, lower tech cars.
I used to think all racing was subordinate to F1. Then I began broadening my perspective with series like Outlaws and a couple forms of motorcycle racing. It really has changed my opinions. A1 is a great fit for what I like in racing. Others see it differently. Cest la vie.
