Thanks for the reply. The thing is, the regs are extremely vague for the roadgoing class. A daylight MOT is perfectly legal and valid (and can be obtained from your local MOT station) and the regs just specify that the vehicle has an MOT and not which kind. The same vagueness applies to the amount of interior trim required.
I wasn't suggesting that roadgoing isn't competitive
I just don't want to have to fork out for new wheels and tyres. The regs even specify that my Dunlop Formula R's are valid for roadgoing. It would appear that the regs have been written to encourage existing Group1 cars to enter. And I'm all for that. Perhaps I'll just enter into class D modified and see what the tech scrut has to say!
