Thats what I do when i change the rack height on Escorts, the steering arms are re-made and and the ball joints are replaced with rod ends.. the reason for this.. The taper cutter was too expensive and the Rod Ends came at a cost comparable to Rs2000 TRE's, You can even rubber boot them to stop the MOT'er from having a headfit in the UK
