'Bottle, Aly and Janice will probably be able to tell you about the scavenger hunt we once had to carry out in an effort to find a rotor arm for the Volkswagen Variant at Newcastle-under-Lyme.

The trouble was - Type 3 rotor arms just didn't burn out, so no one had them in stock. I eventually had to rig a makeshift one together using bits found in the ignition of a VW 412 found in a scrapyard, and propping the engine cover open with a firmly-jammed screwdriver in the mechanism, because the 412 distributor cap was that much taller than the proper bit.
