I think drivers, crews and marshalls were all very long-suffering. I witnessed numerous occasions when very hot drivers & cars were blocked by crowds of people, not just the odd one or two, and yet I never heard a cross word although I'm sure there were some dark mutterings under the breath.
I also think that allowing so many people into the assembly area detracted from the drama of the race, here at least the drivers should be allowed a bit of space to focus on the job. The assembly area was just an extension of the paddock melee.
