It was supposed to mix up the grid but I was never convinced it actually made that much difference. Apart from the odd occasion when someone put gravel on the track the results were pretty much the same as they would have been under normal qualifying.

Memorably Alain Menu messed up his breaking for the Club chicane at Thruxton in the first ever One Shot session and he qualified down the order as a result.
I just feel the Saturday needs something to freshen it up a little bit. Mind you, would you want to give some of the drivers down the order one lap and a clear track to go as fast as they possibly can?
