You can't "build" a car to a weight, you build the car lighter than you need it and then ballast it, with the added benefit of improving weight distribution or cross weights.

Pretty much you're always going to build something like this as light as you can get away with, then put as much weight as you can as low as possible, and wherever in the car it most improves the handling.

As for reliability/engine temps, no testing can ever duplicate what happens in a race meeting.
