Reason for this was that Toyota Japan wanted us to run in the small class for marketing reason and the Corolla was the quickest car up to 1600cc and even later when CAMS eliminated the 1600cc class and made a class up to 2000cc we were still faster than the NISSAN Gazelle driven by Mark Skaife. We also achieved a Guinness book record of 24 consecutive win in row. The only time TTA ran a bigger car was in 1990 the Toyota Supra which was not very successful at al because the car was to heavy and had lack of HP against Holden, Ford and Nissan.
