At one time Pontiac offered things you coudn't get on the Chevrolet version, like a turbo and 4 wheel disc brakes. This decade there was talk of aiming Pontiac at BMW and the Pontiac G8 (rebadged Holden Commodore V8) was a great rear drive budget M5.
