Croft
Twenty-five entrants encountered conditions from monsoon to dry and sunny during their visit to the Croft BTCC event on 23/24 June.
Race one saw a considerable number of retirements – sixteen finishers, headed by Andy Smith’s Morgan +8. Invitation Class entrants
Mark Campbell, Triumph TR5 and Russell Paterson, Morgan +8 were second and third. The same cars made-up the top three in race
two, on that occasion Paterson led Smith, with the unlucky Campbell third, having spun whilst leading on the final lap.
Several of the retirees from race one were able to repair their cars – a total of twenty completing the second outing of the weekend.
Joint championship leaders, Robert Marshall and Nic Boyes, both won their class in each race.
The next two rounds are at Kirkistown on 21st July.
