Aagh! Most of the cars you're describing as classics I sold them new! Marinas, Cortinas, Escorts, Peugeots. I remember selling an E-Type "new" from the showroom that was at least 12 months old - we couldn't shift them towards the end of their life and this one was a "doom blue" V12 2+2, what's that worth today? I must say, looking back, my favourites were the early RS Escorts, especially mk1 Mexicos - they had a wonderfull poise and balance as an everyday road car, if only you could find one that hasn't been messed with.
