Button is ordinary atm and isn't going to improve. But Button has a bank of experience that should prove fruitful during the transitional phrase to Honda.
It might be too soon to hire a heavy hitter whilst the Honda-Mc relationship is trying to find its feet. I have no issue with Magnussen. There's talent there that just needs space to flow.
