Second fatality at the Lausitzring
The new German Lausitzring is starting off in a bad sign.
A marshal was killed on Thursday at the same circuit where Michele Alboreto lost his life while testing for Audi a week ago.
The 43-year-old marshal attended a private testing session and was hit by a car when he crossed the track to remove mechanical debris left by another vehicle.
Scout, the security organization to which the marshal belonged, commented with: 'What happened is inexplicable. Every marshal knows that going on the track is not allowed when a yellow flag is being waved. Only when a session is interrupted by a red flag can they do that.'
