1989 Silverstone 1000kms painting
Here is one I did back in '89 of Brundle's Jaguar at the Silverstone 1000kms Group C race.
It was 30x20ins and commissioned by the marshals at Silverstone. They all clubbed together to have it done and presented it to one of their team who was leaving - John Higgins from Northampton. I put some marshals here and there including some pushing the Roy Baker Tiga in the pit road, due to it's purpose. Hope you like it. |

I certainly do, Andrew. All the more so as I was at that race.

It's an old picture though, painted in 89 as I said.
I've just done some restoration on a couple of other earlier paintings I did. They appeared at the Bonham's Goodwood auction and the buyer contacted me to touch them up as they had a few scratches etc. It's quite a shock to see my early originals, I hadn't seen these two for over 10 years and like this Jaguar one - as in most things in life you improve by experience and practice. I'm sure if I saw the Jag one now in the flesh I could think of many things I would do differently if I was to paint it today. I'm still proud of it though and pleased you like it Carrie. Cheers. |
