mattray has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
The Excuses thread!

so we have all heard of the more popular excuses, long brake pedal, "flu", broken crank, "had a wedding to go to" so why didnt some of us make it to the final?? or why did some not make it to the end??

My excuse:
the Luminition failed cutting the engine on the way into Copse!!

anyone else??

We fished a french driver out of the Brooklands gravel during the school practise session on Saturday - when I asked him "Were you just too fast into the corner?" his reply was a typically gallic shrug and: "No, I was just too stupid!" Very refreshing!

Don,t mention Brookland. I was in there twice . One in the Semi-Final when i was already in a qualifying position and once in the Consolation Final. Pretty sure it was faulty brake bias or locking rear offside brake calliper hrug: hrug:

I'm thinking of building a small water feature in my back garden with the gravel I collected at Brooklands. My excuse was tyres that were well past their sell by date plus a badly leaking front damper which caused the o/s/f wheel to lock up on anything other than a billiard table smooth surface. But then again I could have just been going too quickly?!

Matt Darcy's is absolutely the best I've ever heard and I'm saving for future use myself.

That's brilliant - I've never heard that one used before!

Going back to Brooklands for a moment (sorry guys) a few weeks back we had someone off blaming it on the blue flag. Apparently he saw the blue and then took so long looking in his mirrors to see what was happening that he forgot to turn left when he got to the corner.
