In the same way as BAR dominated F1 right from their entry?

You can't jsut throw money and people at a team and expect it to gel straight away. There will be a lot of teething problems for this effort. However, if they can put out four cars, chosen entirely on talent rather than sponsorship (a rarity in F3000, even for F1-affiliated squads), maybe they will be in the hunt.

I dont see them having any problems, the engineers they have know the cars from last year and Im sure the personal can manage, comparing them to BAR is a little bit differnt lol, they were a F1 team setting up a new engine a new chasis everything, Brand have it all already there with the same equipment as everyone else the cars are already reliable.

Now all they need to do is get 2 or 4 good drivers and im sure now with their recent addition with a CART team it defintly looks as though they have the cash to get the drivers that they need, dont count them out.

Where does the money come from ?

It reminds me the story of the Shannon Group who bought in 1996 Forti in F1, Danielson in F3000 and two F3 teams in Italy and Germany. Everything collapsed quite quickly, because Shannon never paid a signle penny.

It was a kind of "money laundering" business run by a German called Ben Gartz which had links with Italian and Russian mafias.

I hope the Brand Motorsport's operation is something clear and clean.

Why it shouldn't be ? Firstly, this team comes from nowhere. Last year, it was just a little Euroboss team which ran a poor old Reynard F3000 (not an old F1 like the biggest teams of that serie).

And now, one year after, they buy two International Formula 3000 teams, maybe a CART team and they draft some of the best race engineers...

...well, OK, I just wonder where their money comes from. I'm waiting for the name of the sponsors. Because all that business sounds weird.

The team seems to be a marketing tool for the communications company Brand Communications (Martin Kendrick is Founder and MD) - http://www.brandcomms.com/

Obviously he must be a very wealthy man

Brad was Tomas engineer in 2001. The year when Nordic dominated the championship. Last season he ran Baumgartners car, but that does not make him a worse engineer!!

I think Brand will add some much needed new blood to F3000. Providing they get good drivers (and Iam sure they will)they will do well. They have the engineers, the equipment. They just need good drivers.

Of course it is, and its looking as strong as last year now FORD are on board and Lola are supplying 15 new cars, and Zonta, Wilson, Bourdais all gunning for drives.

Brands Motorsport should sign a driver who's already in the series for about 2 year, because he has experience, that's good for a new team and a new young gun, Ricardo Sperafico and Heikki Kovalainen for example. But I'm not the boss of Brands Motorsport (unfortunately )

Nah if they were going to go for a driver they should aim for Pantano, or tocceleo.

Yeah right!! Show your intentions of winning by recruiting your engineers from the team that scored no points in this years championship!! Forget Tomas Enge.....that wasn't even the same car. Hope this bloke was cheap!!

I know what u mean, but in 2002 the team made bad driver choices. In 2001 however look at what the team did, when they had 2 excellent drivers. The engineers can only do so much with the drivers they have..
