HRT-Problems continue?
Bloke in the bar last night told me that Skaifes engineer has resigned. Someone needs to fix this team up before it falls apart.

If it's true, that would be the first key person to leave HRT in a long time. Skaife must be a great Boss!

I'll believe it when it hits MNews or AA, even then is that a good judge? Hell, it may even be true, time will tell I guess. |

Bloke in the pub told me last night:
HRT have fallen apart. No longer functioning as a race team. Still, forgetting their illustrious past - just talking current stuff, he reckons, they're the current lap record holders at Adelaide, Eastern Creek, Pukekohe, Oran Park, Sandown and Symmons Plains. He also said that they've been on the front row at every round this year except one (including having both cars on the front row at the most recent round), and were also on the front row at the AGP non-championship round. He reckons they've fallen apart to such an extent that they've only had ten Top 10 finishes this year, and at the most recent round could only manage one race win and even then only the round win. I told him that that was pretty hopeless compared to what I know they can do, but that there's probably a few teams who would like to have fallen apart to such a hopeless mess. |

So? It won't spoil our day. People move around in this business. Life goes on. Often, resignations lead teams on to better things. Campbell Little left SBR. The sun came up the next morning, and SBR seemed to recover OK.

Just seems to me that the "bloody big fence" that Crenno spent a decade building, is rapidly falling over under Skaifes ownership.

Don't know what happened there. Fat fingers on my behalf, I guess.

Actually, the psychology behind some guys leaving teams after they have achieved success happens for a number of reasons, not the least being the need for a new challenge to get them motivated.
Look at Valentino Rossi, could have named his price from Honda forever pretty much, but chose to go somewhere else to prove the bike wasnt the weapon, the rider was... and proved it to be true really early on. Mechanics, engineers, business managers are the same... work your guts out for a goal, then achieve it... it doesnt leave much more to get thru now does it... How many boats can you water ski behind? (maybe we should ask Mr Johnson about his newby) |
