Is the new Canon EOS350D any good for motorsport?
Canon have annouced the EOS350D, it's the replacement for the 300D which is generally viewed on here as having some limitations that compromise it's ability to take motorsport pictures. The bumf is on the eos website:
http://www.eos-magazine.com/EOS%20sy...0D_report.html This seems to suggest that a number of the noted shortcomings have been fixed (AF and metering modes can be tweaked) - are these changes enough to make this camera a worthwhile investment? It's still a good chunk cheaper than the 20D too. |

It looks excellent to me!
Burst mode has improved from 4 to lots - which was the main problem with the 300D and motorsport. |

Looks interesting, looks like the D70 is going to get a rival.
I have seen on another forum that it is going cost £749.99 for the body. The camera will also be available in kit form with the EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 lens at £799.99, and with the EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 and EF-S 55-200mm f4-5.6 II lenses at £1029.99. It should hit the shop's sometime in April. Oh yeah and I sticking with my 10D. |

I have a rebel, and the only part I don't like is the lack of the predicative AI Servo in the creative modes. I stepped up to a 20D and it is a tremensdous difference.
It looks like Canon is going to offer the predicative AI servo on the 350. If so, the 350 will have a lot to offer. The only thing I didn't like about my 300 Rebel is the lack of the predicative AI Servo in the creative modes. Plus, you'll have some more money for lenses! |
