WSR Silly Season
I'm not up to speed on driver movements for the 2007 World Series but the organisers have selected the first 10 teams out of the 15 who'll be competing:
The remaining eight will have to wait and see if they'll make the last five spaces:

They should get rid of EuroInternational, and possibly Tech 1, or at least upper the cap.

After the strtong rumours a year or so ago, I had hoped we might get some more positive news about Dick Bennetts/West Surrey making a full time single seat return in this series?
EuroInt'l isn't a bad set up surely. Is it still anything to do with Antonio Ferrari's? He's an enthusiast and likes to give good drivers a go in his cars whether it's FR 3.5 or Champcar. I'd certainly like to see either Fortec or Signature get accepted as they are top rung teams, period. |

Indeed, them + Jenzer, Victory and Cram would be my picks - but then, I would get rid of Tech 1 and let Pons in also!

Does the silly season include who goes where? I guess so, in which case it's interesting that confirmation has come today from BMW, no less, that Sebastian Vettel will be racing for Carlin Motorsport in WSR. It fits better than GP2 with his duties as BMW's third driver.
Do we have a title favourite already? |

An heavy rainfall led the second test session at Vallelunga come to a premature end today. After one hour and a half, all the drivers were forced to stay in the pits, without being able to come back on track. The best laptime was set by Alvaro Basba, at his debut with Draco. Jerome D'Ambrosio took the second spot after a good overall performance, while Valsecchi was really happy with his new chassis after clinching third. Eurointernational and Milos Pavlovic closed in a solid 4th position: the team will now leave Vallelunga as the team will be racing in the F.BMW World Finals in Valencia. Cristian Montanari was able to close 5th for GD Racing, in front of Sebastian Vettel. Marco Bonanomi, eight, was not able to use his new tires at the best. The two rookies, Fabrizio Crestani (Pons) and Alex Frassineti (Interwetten) were respectively 9th and 10th, followed by Valentino Sebastiani with his GD Dallara. The trio will not be in the game tomorrow.

Van Der Drift steadily worked his way forwards timewise as well.
At this test he's been arguably the most impressive of the 2.0 graduates although Clos and Baguette have done well. I think he's very much a star of the future but if he were to sign for RC, are they still a team capable of giving someone a car with which to challenge for the title? |

I'm surprised how far back Vettel is running. The FR2.0 grads are outpacing him quite badly in the two sessions so far...
Then again, I appear to be this forums resident Vettel critic, so I should probably be happy about that. |
