To those going to Le Mans...
All you folks have a safe trip, and enjoy the sights, sounds and smells. I'll be safe at home, thankful I get to finally see a season of top flight sportscar racing. What ever you do, don't eat what Ron Fellows did during the race last year, k?

Thanks Chevyguy, I'm sure we'll alld have fun. Whatever Ron ate last year, it must have been left over from 1987.....

For fans...
For amateurs, an international star is expected for a concert at 22h00 at LM (esplanade P13) ; according to a member of the french forum 'Motorlegend', it could be Jamiroquiai... I have no confirmation...

In the area just before the funfair there is a cleared area with a stage. The ACO normally hold some sort of entertainment there on the Saturday night. Last year is was meant to be Atomic Kitten and the year before The Wailers (As in Bob Marley).

Just want to wish you all a safe trip and a great time. Try and get your ugly muggs (not you Liz) in front of the camera. We'll be watching for you.

If you really want, it is possible to sit on the bank, see the race one way, turn 180 degree's and see the concert the other.
It is timed at 21:00, a fairly quiet time in the race as teams settle in for the night, get used to the night lights etc. If it is J Kay well great, he is a great car man, who knows he might lead a team in the future like Nick Mason did. His garage IS the Le Mans Legends race in 30 years time. |

The gig on Saturday night is Jamiroquai - confirmed - From what I have just read on the CA board the gig will take place across the track from Maison Blanche - might be worth a look it is someone I have wanted to see live for quite a while.......

Maison Blanche? That's different. You can watch it while eating across the way at M.R.I. Rob!

All the best to those attending this year, sounds like the attendence is on the up and up. I'm afraid I'll be sitting at home with my newly installed satellite dish and internet radio, as our first child is due any day. (I did consider persuading my wife that facilities are much better in France - which I believe they are - especially in La Sarthe ;-). I'll be back again for my 8th Le Mans next year.
Curiously our local hospital has just installed individual TVs and Internet browsers for each bed in the maternity unit, should junior decide to arrive at 4pm Saturday!!! Cheers Mike ps. When I stopped going in the 80's Jaguar won, so Bentley it is then, or Audi UK...... |
