Divinas Lola T490 history wanted

I can't believe it but my computer crashed and I lost everything I had on history of my car contact emails, photos, history etc. My fault for not backing up my files SO....

Now that Graham has got the history of his 911 powered Lola hillclimber sorted, I hoped that you can help me again. My chassis is HU4, used by Divina in the first year of S2000 to win the first race at Oulton Park and a total of 10 races in 1977 (first year of s2000) The car was bought by John Pancho Webb mid season 1978 and then the story gets lost until 1983 when the car was brought to Canada.

I am looking for any information, photos, memories etc of this chassis. Some body said that the car may have become part of the Brands Hatch rental fleet or that Webb may have rented the car out. Did you race this car or remember it racing against you?

The first year it was Kelly Girl Green (sponsor) The car was red when received in Canada -- the green can be found by sanding down the old paint in places. A second set of bodywork came with the car --front red with an elongated front and openings for front radiator. At some point the car was converted to T492 specs with a large bladder for fuel and centre lock wheels. It was suggested that this was for Thundersports. Any ideas??

If you sent me info or emails in the past, please do so again so I can rebuild the story that I had

your help will be most welcomed

Good grief!
You must be very irritated loosing that lot, but hopefully it will all come back.

You need Clive Brown on the case for sure. He has been quiet in my world recently, but I'm sure he will rise to the occasion.

When I started out on my quest thinking I had T 490 HU 06 the Kelly girl car cropped-up regularly, esp the pictures as she was quick and a good-looker so attracted publicity.

My actual car, T 492 HU62 was supplied in Kelly Girl green I think as a result of that 490 car colour. It was described as 'Kelly Girl Green' on the sales sheet.

I'll start looking at this end to see if I can find anything on your car's history.

Graham.

Just Googled 'Lola T 490'.
Went straight to the picture gallery (always a good place to start) and found a small pic of Davinia and your car, further were 2 pics of a Mr Webb racing it at Brands (490/HU4).

With the pic gallery, click on the pic and sometimes the article the pic appears in shows in the brackground. Close the original pic and you have an article to read up!

Used by Webb in 1979 S2000 series. I think BHR used it as a tuition car between races in 1978 - dim memory of an Autosport photo somewhere, as it was used for one to one sessions with the instructor.

They did circuit rides in the Sports 2000 as well.
