Indianapolis MotoGP Course
Here is the new four turn complex that will start the lap of the MotoGP infeild course for next years Red Bull Indianapolis GP.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/60868 http://www.redbullindianapolisgp.com...ate=2007-12-03 It will run in the opposite direction of the F1 course, running the same direction as the oval. And some camber on turn 3? cool Also, they have got rid of those two hairpins. |

A pitty there wasn't a view from a grandstand. The map and low level shots are ok, but don't offer a Fans view.

Within the surroundings of the oval, I think they've made a good design decision to make it bike-friendly. And the changes to the infield section should be beneficiary to the clockwise F1 track as well.
Thanks nickyf1 for the links. |

I wonder if, when F1 returns, they might also use the counter-clockwise configuration.
When the US Grand Prix at Indy was introduced, somewhere in 1999, they said they'd have the clockwise track for one season, and then change it to accomodate a counter-clockwise circuit. That never came to fruition, though. |

I thought that was the whole idea? The circuit will be re-homologated in its new configuration for all events 2008 onwards, so if F1 does return it will have to use the counter-clockwise MotoGP variant.

loking at the map, T2,3&4 looks to be very tight for anything other than motorbikes. Unless F1 were to run the oval T1 and come off at the new T5.

I suppose that the speedway can add a road that bypasses Turn 3 of the new circuit and opens up the entry to Turn 4 for cars.

Or even a new turn 3 for cars which goes left, instead of the current right, to bypass this section and joins back onto the oval?
