Shedden returns with Cartridge World

Gordon Shedden is back in the BTCC from this weekends Snetterton rounds, replacing Dan Eaves.

Backing is from Club Seat and FFDR.

According to todays Sun Motors!

Interesting, has Dan run out of budget then and Gordon found some it seems.

Article from the sun online here: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...ro-Racing.html

Looks like there will be extra backing for the team. Shame for Eaves though- how many years did he wait for Clyde Valley to get on the grid- and he's already been replaced!

After having met flash a couple of times during his enforced Btc sabatical I can help but think this return will be just what he needs. I know its only for the few meetings that remain in season 2009 but it will put him back in the shop window for season 2010

The big question is Can Dan eaves find himself a drive for next season?

I personally hope so

GO FLASH

Will Shedden be able to take up his previous number #52, or will he need a new entry.
Also, will he be able to pick up his TD points from the early rounds?

I'm not sure Dan ever had a budget, at least he wasn't expected to bring money to the team.

Have to feel sorry for him. At the end of 2005 he gets booted out of Team Dynamics and sees Shedden take his place the following year, now once again he looses his drive to Shedden.

I still can't see the team improving much, no matter who is driving. The cars aren't quick enough and the team don't seem to have enough spare parts which won't be much good with "Flash" driving.

I take it you're referring to Shedden having a high attrition rate with cars. IIRC, Shedden'd record is no worse than any other TC driver, and I feel he's had less incidents than most on the current grid.

No, not in the contact stakes, he's just a very physical all action style of driver and the Leons aren't exactly renowned for being robust are they.

If Dan didn't bring money to the team (as redshoes has posted) then it's no surprise he has missed races due to lack of spares.

Perhaps the sponsors of the team weren't aware of this and it's demanded someone with a budget to come in just so the team can have the additional spares.

Alfa Fan has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
If it means CVR can now run 2 cars as smoothly as Jones' seems to then its a very good move.

I don't think the problems in the team are driver related!

So why doesn't Adam's car break down every weekend and miss most races?

The breaking down will be in part due to the age of the car. Eaves' car was one of the old GR Asia cars so somewhat older the one Jones is driving.

Missing races is down to lack of spares. Jones effectively brought his own car with him and I suspect his own stock of spares as well. Remember last time Eaves had an engine failure, the team didn't fit another engine even though they had a spare in the truck because it was Jones' engine.

Yeah but my point is that presumably Gordon is bringing a reasonable amount of money to the team for the drive, and hence the team should be able to afford a larger stock of spares?

Its a shame not to see Dan still out there, more to it than meets the eye I'm sure but he's a good driver and still the only one to win all 3 races in a weekend don't forget.
