Bathurst Telecast.... doesn't make sense.
Hey all.
Just checked out the times for Bathurst, and here it says the race starts at 10am and goes until 5:45pm But here it says that the Channel 10 coverage ends at 5pm. I doubt they'll cut out the last 45 mins of the race, so is it a typo... is the race supposed to end at 4:45, or is the coverage supposed to go through until 6? |

A contingency plan- if there is a late pace car and the race goes 'overtime' they have the bases covered as far as TV coverage goes. Dunno about Suzuka though- isn't that supposed to follow after the BJTM 1000 has concluded? They could always put the F1 on at 10:30pm.

Well normally the race goes for around 6.5 hours, now I know that can change depending on the weather and crashes, but CH10 have got the news and election update from 5 till 5.30 than the F1.

If it's a wet race then it will run way past 5pm.

4:45pm is the finish time of the race, pace car, rain, etc or not.
I'd have to check but it hasn't run 161 laps in some recent years due to the 4:45 pm finish time. Someone confirm this for me? Even Bathurst will stop for the Ten News on Sunday. |

The only years the 1000km race hasn't run the distance in 1992 and 1981, due to red flags for pile-ups.
And unless it's changed this year, the finish time is 5.45pm. Remember the days when practice started on wednesday, two qualifying sessions, no compulsory brake pad changes, if you could get through on 2 stops you were welcome to, and the race could last as long as it took to get it done! On the RPM Bathurst preview Bill Woods stated that they will show the complete race and that the Japanese F1 will follow after the Bathurst race, the news was to be sandwiched between the two races if time permitted - about time they woke up , plenty of other stations to watch the news on .

Long as the F1 isn't moved to late (because they will be showing MOTOGP from Malayasia then.) ill be happy. I agree there is news on other channels and you will get news updates through out the afternoon anyway on ten.

I have just come home and rewound the tape of todays events where they said that they were going to show the Konica Race and the Carrera Cup cars and then didn't show either. Thought I must have heard wrong so rewound it again and listened to Bill Woods and Cromley a second time and they did say they would be on today. Hope the weekend isn't going to be like that.

I think they implied Saturday, three hours wouldn't be enough to show the complete qualifying plus Carrea and Konica.

You may not think the CH10 Bathurst telecat makes sense, How a bout the PROCAR dude's putting the coverage of there last round up against the Saturday Bathurst coverage .
Good Plan there, WTF if you are having trouble attracting any suporter base, don't make the few fans you have , choose between the two .Just stupid |
