Steve Wilkinson is a back marker
Italian not German

According to the superb A - Z of Formula RAcing Cars (1945-1990) by David Hodges:

"An Italian F3 one-off which emerged in 1975" it ran a Toyota engine tuned by Novamotor.

"Piercarlo Ghinzani drove the CRS-Allegrini with modest success" and I am pretty sure that Ghinzani raced it in Britain that year - possibly the British GP meeting?

Indeed, Ghinzani did race it at Silverstone in 1975.
I'll check in Autosprint, but I'm pretty sure it was a one off car supported by Allegrini, Ghinzani's regular backers.

No CRS appears in F3 in 1979 to the best of my knowledge. Are we talking about the same car?

It seems to be some kind of sportscar (presumably 679 = Group 6 from 1979).
Wolf-Peter Mast from Germany ran it in an Interserie race at Ulm on August 26th 1979 (he came 10th).
By October 1979 he was running a Lola.

SBI should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Sorry folks, I didnot yet check this thread. And I am surprised !
I think that Paul and Peter are right. That means you are maybe/probably considering one of my cars.
This car is CRS type 679 chassisnumber 0010 from 1979 ex-W.P.Mast.

Oké, I'm back again.
CRS means CONRAD RACING SPORT.
Mister Karl-Heinz CONRAD in Germany ran on Chevron B36 mostly hillclimbs/Bergrennen and built serveral cars with Chevron appearance. He ran in a Chevron B36 and some of his own productions mostly hillclimbs/Bergrennen.
He is still active in a Formule Renault 2 liter
There had been built only one type 679 in 1979, so definitely Paul and Peter are writing about my car.
The other 5 built cars are in Chevron B19 style with 1300 cc engines.
Now the technical data from the original Wagenpass(= technical passport of the car):
Open two seater race car up to 2 liter class, groupe 6, later groupe C sport-prototype. Bodywork from Chevron B36.
Engines used were registred 4 cylinders Ford BDA 1998 cc, BMW 1991 cc M12-7 and Ford BDA 1598 cc.
Weight 600 kgs.
Length 3900 milimeters
Wide 1930 mm.
Height 1100 mm.
Wheelbase 2300 mm.

Past owners were:
Wolf-Peter Mast from Wolfenbüttel, registrated 23-07-1979 ;
Karl Wolser from Freiburg ;
Georg Olbrich from Rheinbach. He became German hillclimb champion(Bergmeister) several times with this car. However happy with the car he had to change because of the rules for running the European Hillclimb series to use a N-homologated engine in the sports-proto's groupe C. The ruling engine was then the 6 cylinder BMW which is way too long to be mounted in the CRS chassis and he bought an Osella for that reason.

Mister Mast ran the first time 25-26.08.1979 at Ulm but suffered from an oil problem on his engine.

Actual the CRS 679 is race ready again with a Ford Cosworth BDG 2 liter onboard.

Hello.
It is great to track down some information. The notes from SBI confirm my paperwork.

Im keen to learn more about the 5 cars that were 1300 cosworths. I think I have one.

It was shipped from Ulmer str5 in 1988 by Ute Weisse, to Piave Jolly Club in Italy.

Described as a b19 chevron CRS. subsequently driven by Bottaretto, Moreschi and Gianofracetti. Then going to Alfonso di Fransesco who had it restored by Landi in Lucca and sold to me in Japan. It has been circuit racing for 4 years in Japan at Motegi,Fuji and tsukuba circuits.

Prior to going to Italy it was driven in dozens of hill climbs by several owners, schipke (1978) other names I cannot read from (1979, 1983,1984)

The wagan pass I have also shows Wolf peter Mast as an orignal owner followed by Gunter Schmid.

Other information is that car appears to have been spnsore by Reifen huben en...?

The car in question had B36 type construction but B19 body work exactly as SBI suggests although it has now lost its rear wing. The car has been Green and then red and is now blue.

laterly it came 4th overall at Motegi festival of speed following a chevron B16, b19 and B8.

Any more informnation on these cars would be welcome
