Yeah,I thought so too, but don't think Schanche will be too impressed if he watches that!!
I think they could add Lawrence Gibsons crash from last year in there, as that was pretty nasty!!

The Commodiore was brought in by teh Carglass team in Belgium I think in blimey about 1988.

Eddy Guffens drove it I think, then Jacques Frannsen and a few others, and why not really, good power, not that much bigger than a Sierra and without the turbo lag problems, surely no woirse than a Volvo 240!!

As for crashes, LAwrences was small fry compared to most, Jan Arthur Iversens RS200 in Belgium for me, follwed by Gollops at Lydden, Hans te Pas at Lydden, Schanche and Alamaki in Sweden!! Bert Brodin in Norway!

Yep – the Holden Commodore VK V8 arrived in 1988 with Belgian Eddy Guffens and Eddy became the 1988 Belgian RX Group A champion outright. In 1991 and 1992 (full ERC season) it was driven by Jacques Franssen before the 4WD Group N cars took over Division 1.

Just did a Google and found some more information - in another thread on 10/10th, no less! VL model it actually is, although they could have just changed the panels over. I'm surprised it was competitive but ultimately it is a reasonably powerful engine in a light-ish RWD chassis.

VL model? As far as I remember only the VK was homologated for Group A in those days. At least the Belgians did use the Group A FIA docs for the VK...

I'm not sure of the homologation issues but the body panels are definitely VL.
I've lost the links to the photos - they're on my home computer!
