Brands 21/22 April

Many thanks to all you guys and girls for sterling work over the weekend. hope that you didn't get too burned.
Many people commented that the quality of the flagging was superb.
Lots of laughs in the collecting area, (sorry couldn't get any names), but it made for a great start to the races.

thank you too,
from where I was on bottom straight it was all straightforward stuff, with a couple of outstanding races.
Stacey V of this parish against the BMW was the outstanding race of the day, absoulutely brilliant.
Shame we were so short of marshals that our newest chief was getting a bit frazzled, but it all seemed to work well in the end.

As for the ladies of the assembly area, (amongst others, Janice & Sue), sometimes the problem can be to get them to stop laughing.
or hugging you to death

Oops, but in my defence, I'm unable to see the number of your car from here. (says he, using observer tactic no.1 when caught out)

Thanks for putting me on the right path Elio.

Mr Willcocks, you & Stacy V put on a stunning display, thank you.

Thanks for the training Bodysnatcher
Thanks both, it was good fun finishing in front of the pesky Mazda.
Please, enough of the "Mr" business, it makes me feel even older than I am.

A superb weekends racing. I was not looking forward to the 2CV race, 2 hours I thought would be boring - How wrong I was, a superb race, some strange lines into paddock made it all the more fun to watch. Grass roots motorsport at its best. I hope the two guys that rolled their cars into the paddock beach during the weekend are soon back on track, although not sure the cars will be.

A great race between John and Stacey to finish off a great weekends racing.

Thanks to everyone on 4a for a great job this weekend.

Who's StacEy?

Pleased to be able to provide some entertainment for you guys. It's so much easier to race in such an open and fair manner with someone you trust.

The right man won on the day as well, much as I tried I just didn't have the speed around the whole lap.

I was one of those John mentioned earlier by the way, I'd like comment on the efficiency of the flagging and marshalling all weekend, and indeed the wider officialdom - it really was faultless from where I was sat.

Thankyou, it really does make a difference on and off the track, and makes the whole event a good place to be.

Sincerely,

Stacy

On Sunday morning I spoke to the 2cv driver who's race came to a spectacular end in the Paddock gravel. Not only was he vertical and seemingly unharmed, he raced a Renault 5 on the Sunday (car 88), and I thought it was us marshals that were mad!

Didn't recognise Andre when he walked past me on post. Confused by name on the remains of the 2CV. Have not bumped into him for a few years. Know his father very well as he is the owner/manager of my local golf course club house. Now's there an excuse as if I ever need one to pop out for a beer or two and discuss his sons driving technique/standards

As a 2CV racer myself, I'd just like to say thanks for the above comment Despite our cars not being the fastest out there, and despite this year's championship being enduro-only, we pride ourselves on still having very close racing, lots of overtaking, etc.

If you liked Brands - how about the 24hr? Great atmosphere, and more great racing.

On behalf of all our team (and the other teams, I should think) thank you to *ALL* marshals who attended Brands at the weekend. I realise numbers were low, but I reckon you were all superb - I had really good visibility of flags, and thought the blue-flagging was top-notch! You all did great in the safety car periods too. Some of you may have spotted my frustration with the novices who didn't realise that the safety car board meant "catch up with the rest of the field, you plonker, not pootle along at 30mph!" We've told them off, don't worry

Nut you're supposed to slow for the Safety Car, not speed up...! Seriously, 2CVs have always been good entertainment and prove that you don't have to outlandishly quick to be good to watch.

Aahh, so thats what happened. Couldn't see a thing after the first impact in the gravel trap for the dust ..cough, cough. It was nice to talk to you afterwards on post James and glad that you were shaken but not stirred after the incident. Hope you get a new car and look forward to meeting you again though not in the same fashion. LOL
