And of course there will be a Ten Tenths contingent in attendance. Look for me at turn 14 (the dogleg before start-finish) and Racegypsy at turn 11. Well, don't look specifically -- we always say if you can see the corner workers that's a bad thing, because the cameras like to avoid us.
I hear they're still calling for thunderstorms for qualifying on Saturday.

Well, the shirts I packed are from Le Mans, Goodwood FoS and Waterford Hills Road Racing. It was hard to choose what to take 'cause most of my shirts are Champ Car based. Ah well.

I hope it doesnt rain. They are calling for rain here in Indy Saturday as well for the Brickyard 400 qualifying.

I hope it does, rain always makes for better racing.

Indeed, I too hope for a wet race. I think the people who don't enjoy racing in the rain don't enjoy it because a certain Danica struggles in those conditions .
My only problem with rain in the IRL is that they are really big fans of full course cautions. I remember St. Pete 08 was just safety car after safety car until the track dried. They seemed to have a problem with letting them loose in the rain, which I thought was a bit of a joke.

It was the result of a severe thunderstorm that left fairly deep standing water in the apexes of corners and such and they did want to get it at least somewhat dry due to that issue.
One of the early Watkins Glen races was in heavy rain all day, but the ponding issue did not occur so they ran green.
I've seen red flag conditions for practice sessions and qualifying at the 12 Hours at Sebring due to conditions similar to that St. Pete race (heavy storms and ponding of water in corners) that you referred to as well, so the IRL shouldn't be criticized for that, IMO...

My cable company doesn't carry Versus, so ONCE AGAIN the race won't be televised here.

That puts a on whole new meaning to slip stream
My prediction for the weekend is Conway will bet Patrick, any takers on that bet? - looser gets to wear a avatar of the winners choosing for a week.
