Insult to injury

When I thought everything was settling down...

I was washing my car today and noticed the right rear was down a fair amount (noticed it a couple of days ago actually, but planned on checking properly yesterday but didn't find the time). Turns out there is a screw in it. Right between the treads too, so might be repairable...luckily it is one of the old tyres and not one of the nice new ones on the front, which still look better after 3,500kms than the old fronts did after 1,000.

ouch. we found a 1-inch bolt in one of my friend's land rover tyres at a garage once. as we were going down the autoroute, it fell out, and the tyre promptly went down...

You want to try working where I used to... nails and screws would always find their way into the tyres of our trucks - on average I reckon a tyre would last 6-8 weeks max. Not funny!

Ray Bell should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
It's so easy to fix tubeless tyres... a bit of silastic generously smeered into the hole and around it on the inside of the tyre, some very light plastic over the silastic so the air pressure won't blow it through the hole (like a bit of frail plastic bag... or paper will do...) and blow it up.. fixed.
