2011 Japanese Super GT

GTA(GT Association) announced that it would deepen cooperation with JMIA(Japan Motor-racing Industry Association).
JMIA is a society of the Japanese independent constructor.
Its chairman is Minoru Hayashi of Dome co., ltd.
It has proposed the union carbon monocoque chassis for JAF-GT300 to GTA.
GTA expects JMIA to act as a technical division of GTA.

To tell the truth, I do not understand what this relationship means.
JMIA is a society to promote the Japanese motor sports industry.
JRP(Japan Race Promotion, Promoter of Formula Nippon and FCJ(Formula Challenge Japan)) doesn't want to use the Japanese chassis.
Therefore, GTA promoted the sales of the JAF-GT300 Mother chassis plan to GTA in 2009.
It was a union chassis plan with the tubular frame chassis(sorry, not CFRP monocoque) and the carbon crash structure.

However, GTA announced the introduction of "reasonable" FIA-GT3 afterwards. There is a rumor that Nissan develops FIA-GT3 spec GTR, too.
Therefore, this mother chassis plan seems not to be adopted.

Report by Sports-carracing.net
http://www.sports-carracing.net/news.htm

COX (agency of Porsche) sold four GT3Rs.
There are teams that buy GT3R directly from Europe, too.
The 1st GT3R(from COX) was delivered to Team ART Taste. They participate in GT300.
Team Direction bought two GT3Rs (from COX). The one for GT300 and the other is for ST-X. The driver line-up (for GT300) is Carlo van Dam(!), Hiroshi Hamaguchi(former Shiden driver), and Akira Mizutani. They are the tire development team of Yokohama for GT3R.
Besides these, four team are planning the activity with GT3R (in GT300 or ST-X).

So this is where NOB has ended up. Hope the Dubai winning car is competitive in GT300.

A FIA GT3 GT-R? That would be pretty cool, maybe Nissan's response to Super Taikyu running GT3 cars?

The policy of gathering the entrant by FIA-GT3 of GTA seems to succeed very much!

With GT300 allowing more GT3 cars in, is it possible they're taking a year off with the Z and trying to sell some GT3 GT-Rs for 2012?
