"One of the most significant announcements in the history of the sport..."
A press release has just been sent out.
"V8 Supercars will make one of the most significant announcements in the history of the sport in Melbourne tomorrow.
Senior V8 Supercar Executives will be joined by several special guests to make the major announcement at Crown Casino.
The announcement is years in the planning and is certain to surprise."
Any ideas ?
The release goes on to say it will be at 11am and streamed on the V8 Supercar website.

I'm not sure how another make entering a series that has been open to other makes in the not-so recent past, would be "one of the most significant announcements in the history of the sport"
OTOH it might just be a dramatic press release of course

The obvious answer is a new manufacturer, but given that other manufacturers have competed in the series in the past, would a car manufacturer entering the series for the first time in a while really be a "sigificant annoucement in the history of the sport" ??

The history of the sport only goes back to 1997 as far as I knew.... so in that time there have been NO other manufacturers??

Very inneresting... Nissan/Infiniti have been murmured, they have motorsport form, and they have some form of motivation if they are gonna spend big bucks to brand Infiniti here, lets not forget V8s are only behind AFL football and cricket for audience size.
