Old thunderlooners

Hi All
Anyone remember the Alfa GTV 2.5 V6 twin turbo car that ran in thunderloons in the late eighties early nineties.
What colour was it, race number, who was the driver, race results, sponsor, also any history or old pictures would be interesting
Thanks for looking

Tony? Is that you?

I remember the car vaguely. Red with white strip up the middle?

The best guy to find the info is probably Carrera who has most of the old Thundersaloon "Rolling Thunder" magazines.

Rob.

Remember Joel Wykeham in a GTV at Snett in 89 (yellow/black?) just to shake car down for Nurburgring 24?

An Alfasud popped up in 90 or 91.

Rolling Thunder mags are in bits - still trying to sort a format to CD.

soper - Is there some kind of restoration job in progress?

Assuming it is, are the plans to fettle the car like it was in the period of your question or if it was an ex Group A BTCC car is it going back to that form?

MN says in its report of the recent Alfa race at Oulton that Ian Stapleton's GTV6 is the ex Terry Dury Twin Turbo Thundersaloon car.

Ex Drury? Well a sensible guess would be that this was one of his 3 BTCC cars of 1984-86 then (one of which is my avatar!!)

I know no more than I have said above, although maybe Ian Stapleton can be contacted via the ARCA web site for more info.
